Letter to Carol

Dear Carol,

In class you excited me . . . then you scared the holy crap out of me . . . .and then this heavy cloak of misinformation and narrow focus about my acting style lifted from my shoulders. I cried! I still cry now when I think about the transformation I feel. I saw the possibilities at the time in what you offered us: the freedom to BE instead of ACT, to enjoy the process and journey to the result, and to be fully alive and aware . . . full-bodied, interacting with others on-stage and off. I honestly feel like a man released from prison . . . now in Costco . . . with an unlimited account!! You have sown seeds of greatness in my life and I can only promise that I will attend to the garden with much care and consistency. I will never forget the realization of the gift you were giving each of us as I watched you strip away the protective veneer of "Acting" habits from one of my fellow students and friend. I am astounded by your commitment to our good, and the energy you are willing to offer in that pursuit. I love who you are, I love what you've helped place in me, and I would travel to Bogotá, Columbia to be in your classes. Thankyou for your unforgettable smile.
