Letter to Carol

Dear Carol,
hi,

i got there in my full regalia with guitar and talking gorilla doll at 11:30. people on line were nice and i sang some songs and made ones up. i finally got in at 4 pm or so. literally we had two minutes. i entered with my guitar doing that tip toe music. got grins and chuckles. then, for the first minute i requested the title of a song and made up "it's crazy out there." with a comment from one woman afterwards, "that's wonderful." then i read a side for terry jones. it was real good and they video taped it. my auditions keeping feeling strong and clean.

get this, they had a party that night at a bar. i went and somehow found myself outside playing a song to two beautiful russian sisters. then all of a sudden this funny older guy appears in a suit and starts saying something about his banjo and we should go sit and play. he was the director's father! we played on and off all night. i played "i'm a lumberjack" at least three times.

what an experience keeping myself warmed up after 4 and a half hours! phew.

paul
