Letter to Carol

Carol, I have tried to tell my other theater friends about you and about the retreat and what you taught. Words cannot come close to telling the story. Sometimes I have to explain it by showing....so I will start to say something or sing something, and then I find myself moving and dancing to the song. Some of them have looked at me and smiled, like my first vocal coach who kept trying to get me to be more alive. Others look at me and laugh...saying "what are you doing"? I tell them, this all makes me remember Carol more. I never want to forget ever how you continued with me that 2nd day till I reduced myself to tears. I have never felt so close to being so real in my life. I know, I know, I cry at everything. Well, that is not totally true. I cried there because I had taken such a leap of faith to travel alone so far not knowing anyone, just to find the most fabulous people, all loving and doing the same thing. I have told all my friends, I don't care how good you think you are on stage, Carol Fox Prescott and her loving method of teaching could be the best treat you could ever give yourself. Thank you Carol so much for believing in people and loving them no matter what level they are. You are a marvel to me, and I have brought your special song "anyone can Whistle" home with me. I will never forget that.....anyone can whistle or sing or act or play piano or dance or basket weave or do anything they want if they just believe in themselves. You helped us all Carol believe in ourselves.

Thank you.

Peggy Silva
